Acapulco, Gro.- John Isner, no. 9 in the ATP ranking, advances to quarterfinals, leaving Sam Querrey out of the tournament.

Isner’s weapon of choice was his service, winning 29 points out of 31 played, with an impressive 94% effectiveness with his first service, additionally he didn’t commit doubles faults and didn’t had any break point against. Querrey on his part, scored 14 aces, but committed eight double faults, which made him lost his service twice.

He will face, in quarterfinals, the Australian John Millman, who defeated Peter Gojowczky in two sets(6-0, 6-2), in a match that lasted 62 minutes.

Millman, no. 44 in the ATPranking, scored his seventh victory this season, and gets a ticket to a quarterfinals round for the second time this year after he accomplished it in the ATP 250 of Sydney.
